MU Health Care Children's Hospital and Birthing Center
Further enhancing its world-class patient care experience, University of Missouri Health Care (MU Health Care) is working with Burns & McDonnell to plan and design the new, Children’s Hospital Facility on its main hospital campus. The addition will make the campus a centralized hub, improving operational efficiencies, bringing together critical services for women and children, and featuring state-of-the-art amenities and technology.

The addition will create a centralized hospital campus in Columbia, improving operational efficiencies, bringing together critical services for women and children, and featuring state-of-the-art amenities and technology.
The 323,400-square-foot multi-specialty hospital addition will include 150-190 beds and it will be adjacent to the existing Patient Care Tower.

In 2020, we opened phase two of the expansion, a new 142,000-square-foot building on our campus in South Kansas City to increase the world headquarters’ capacity by 22%. Since breaking ground in 2018, crews worked more than 134,000 hours on the project without any safety incidents.

9450 Ward Parkway Expansion – Phase 1

In 2016, we opened phase one of the expansion, a new 310,000-square-foot building on our 34-acre campus in South Kansas City to accommodate an additional 1,400 employee-owners and provide a variety of on-site amenities ranging from a childcare center to a health center and pharmacy. The four-story facility serves as the southern anchor to the Ward Parkway corridor.
