Utility Results of Augmented Reality Wearable Technology
Wednesday, Oct. 2 | 1 p.m. CentralOver the past two years, Burns & McDonnell and Manitoba Hydro International have been testing utility applications for augmented reality (AR) wearable technologies and have found that the utility industry is ripe for positive disruption. AR wearable technology has been found to increase safety, address the knowledge gap, and improve efficiency and effectiveness of employees. Adam Vitt and Zachary Wassenberg will explore utility-grade applications of AR wearables. They will dive into currently deployed utility use cases, including livestream video communication, real-time meter reading, guided workflows, vegetation management and disaster recovery. Results of these deployments have led to enterprise-level agreements in the utility industry across North America.
