Director – Electric Distribution Underground, Dominion Energy

Dominion's Strategic Underground Program is a ten-year initiative aimed at improving electric distribution reliability for Dominion's 2.5 million customers by converting the most outage prone overhead lines to underground. The targeted approach creates geographic resiliency and will significantly reduce the number of work repair locations following power outage events. Our ultimate goal is to reduce total time of restoration by 50 percent.

Gary has managed all aspects of transmission, distribution and substation projects and programs. From regulatory policy and field operations on the utility/owner side to engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), program management and storm recovery on the contractor side. He has 25 years of utility management experience, successfully and safely managed operations, maintenance and capital project teams. He testified before the California Public Utilities Commission, California Air Resources Board, and South Coast Air Quality Management District as an expert witness.
