On the Road to Fleet Electrification With Foothill Transit

Summary

Transportation electrification provides potential for electric growth within a utility’s service territory while supporting transportation decarbonization within the region. Enabling beneficial transportation electrification requires collaboration among a multitude of stakeholders who are at different points on their journey, have different levels of industry knowledge, and view it from different perspectives. Fleet electrification involves myriad considerations but, through collaboration and effective planning with stakeholders — especially electric utilities — the transition can be successful.

Foothill Transit has been an industry leader for zero-emission buses. Foothill Transit has deployed more than 30 battery electric buses and installed both plug-in and overhead charging infrastructure, and it is currently implementing a road map to transition its fleet of 370+ buses to zero-emission vehicles. Join our presenters as they discuss the transportation electrification journey from Foothill Transit’s perspective.

In this webinar, we will discuss:

  • Infrastructure investment required to transition a fleet
  • Magnitude of potential future load for electric utilities
  • How and where utilities can participate in the journey
  • Assessing other zero emissions technology
