Network Orchestration: Simple and Secure Intelligent Device Deployment

Tuesday, Sep. 17 | 1 p.m. Central

The changing power flows in the distribution grid — and the expectation of increasing reliability — requires a new approach to deploying intelligent devices. These devices must be configured and put into service quickly and efficiently. With projects that require installing hundreds or thousands of devices, and with the need to change device settings in real time (e.g., to change the overcurrent or direction element based on solar production rates), we need to deploy orchestration tools that systematically and consistently configure and validate these assets. Think of the process of implementing smart meters; one does not create a custom settings file and connect a laptop to set. We need similar systems that can manage any asset type on the grid — including devices such as fault indicators, network equipment and inverters — with a single touch and in real time.

This webinar will explore orchestration software, how it dynamically creates configurations, and how it manages their real-time deployment across thousands or millions of devices securely, accurately and reliably.
