Burns & McDonnell respects and would like to acknowledge that the land designated as the site for the Aspen CCGT Power Station is on the traditional lands referred to as Treaty 6 territory; and that all the people represented by this prospective project are beneficiaries of this treaty. Treaty 6 encompasses the lands of the Cree, Dakota, Nakota, Saulteaux and the homeland of the Métis Nation. We are dedicated to seeing that Treaty 6 is honored and respected. This acknowledgement reaffirms our relationship with one another, and our commitment to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous Nations in the spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.

Aspen CCGT Power Station Project Updates/Supplier Registration

Burns & McDonnell is excited to be the selected engineer-procure-construct (EPC) team with SaskPower for the Aspen CCGT Power Station, near Lanigan in Saskatchewan. We are committed to working with local and Indigenous firms to build the new combined-cycle power station. Building on the success of our work on the Queen Elizabeth, Chinook and Great Plains power stations, we are eager to engage once again with the local community and all relevant stakeholders to leave a positive impact on the region.

This website will feature a message board of upcoming events, milestones and updates regarding the Aspen CCGT Power Station project. Suppliers, subcontractors and service providers can register below, indicating the scopes of work they are interested in partnering with us on and we will reach out upon receiving your information. We provided integrated EPC services for the Chinook Power Station, a vital new generational resource for Saskatchewan. Those efforts depended on the support of about 400 local and aboriginal workers, representing 44% of the on-site workforce. Together with our partners, we successfully completed the plant, which is now supporting SaskPower’s commitment to adding more renewable energy to its grid.
